Questions and answers
Getting started
Signing up as a pro, connecting your bank and what to set up before your first booking.
How do I sign up as a pro?
Create a Slayd Pro account in the Slayd app on iPhone. You set up your profile, hours, services and how you work, then start Slayd Pro and connect your bank. You must be at least 17, and Slayd checks your phone number with a 6-digit code sent by text. If you stop partway, open Slayd and tap Finish setting up your account on the sign-in screen to continue where you left off.
Open Slayd and tap Create Account.
Tap I own a business (it is also for independent professionals and team members), then tap Slayd Pro.
Enter your name, email, phone number, birthday and a password, tick the box to agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, then tap Create Account.
Enter the 6-digit code Slayd texts you and tap Verify.
On Set up your profile, enter YOUR NAME and USERNAME. Then tap Confirm these hours, add what you offer, and answer Coming from another app?
On How do you work?, choose On my own, Create a business, or Join a business. If you join with the owner’s invite code, the Slayd Pro screen is skipped.
Tap Enter the app, start Slayd Pro, then tap Connect bank account.
On slayd.ai
Create an account and choose Slayd Pro on Who are you on Slayd?, then enter your details. You set up your business, subscribe by card (the first 30 days are free if this account has not had a free trial) and connect your bank on the Connect your bank to get booked screen, which stays in place of the portal until Stripe approves you.
I did not get the 6-digit code. What do I do?
Wait for the countdown on Resend code to finish, then tap Resend code. Check the number under Verify your phone (We sent a code to ...): if it is wrong, tap the back arrow at the top left, correct it and continue again. If Slayd says phone verification is temporarily unavailable, or the code still does not arrive, try again a little later or email support@slayd.ai.
On Verify your phone, check the number Slayd sent the code to.
Wrong number: tap the back arrow, fix it, and continue.
Right number: wait for the countdown, then tap Resend code and enter the new code.
I already have a Slayd client account. How do I become a pro?
Create a separate Slayd Pro account, because on Slayd one account is one identity and a client account cannot be turned into a pro account. The new account needs a different email address but can use the same phone number: each number can hold one pro account and one personal account. Your client account stays saved on your iPhone, and you can switch between the two.
Tap the Profile tab, then your photo at the top right.
Tap Create new account, then Sign Out & Continue.
Tap I own a business, then Slayd Pro, and sign up with a different email address.
To go back to your client account later, tap your photo and choose it under SWITCH TO.
On slayd.ai
Sign out, then create a new account with a different email address and choose Slayd Pro.
What must be set up before clients can book me?
Four things: an active Slayd Pro plan, a connected bank, at least one service or class on your menu, and published hours. Without hours, your page shows “Not set” for every day and clients see no times. Until your bank is connected, clients cannot book or pay for any paid service, and your page shows Not taking bookings; only a visit a client already paid for with a package still goes through. A menu of only free services stays open. On a team, the owner must also have Clients can book them switched on for you.
Services: Home tab > TOOLS > Services, and add at least one service.
Hours: Home tab > MANAGE > My settings > My hours. If it says Your hours are not set, tap Use these hours or edit any day.
Check your page: Profile tab > gear (Settings) > View public profile.
On slayd.ai
Business settings shows a Finish setting up checklist: Publish your storefront, Connect payments, Add your services and Set your hours, each with a button that takes you there.
Why does the app say “Connect your bank to get booked”?
Clients pay you through Slayd, and Slayd pays you through Stripe, its payment processor, so every pro connects a bank before using the pro side of the app. Until Stripe can pay you, clients cannot book or pay for your paid services, so this screen appears right after you start Slayd Pro and stays in place of the pro side until your account is approved. Setup takes a few minutes, Slayd never sees or stores your account number, and the screen closes on its own once you are approved. Team members whose business collects their payments are not asked.
Tap Connect bank account (it reads Continue with Stripe if you already started).
In Stripe’s secure screens, confirm who you are and add your bank account, then return to Slayd.
When Stripe approves the account, the screen closes and Slayd says “Your bank is connected. You are ready to be booked.”
On slayd.ai
On slayd.ai the same Connect your bank to get booked screen takes the place of the portal until Stripe approves you. Only Get paid, your subscription and billing, and setup stay open, and the screen has Contact support, Sign out and Delete account. Tap Connect bank account (or Continue with Stripe) to finish.
I connected my bank, but the bank screen is still showing. What do I do?
The label on the Payout account card tells you where things stand. IN REVIEW or CONFIRMING means Stripe or Slayd is still checking, which usually takes a few minutes. ACTION NEEDED means Stripe needs more details from you, and anything you already sent is saved. PAUSED or CLOSED means card payments are off on the account, so clients cannot book you.
IN REVIEW or CONFIRMING: tap Refresh, or wait for the screen to close on its own.
ACTION NEEDED: tap Continue with Stripe and finish the details Stripe asks for.
PAUSED or CLOSED: tap Contact support.
On slayd.ai
Open Get paid in the menu to see the same status and finish setup.
Why does Stripe ask who I am, and is my bank information safe?
Stripe verifies the identity of everyone it pays, as the law requires, and then asks for the bank account your earnings are paid into. You enter these details in Stripe’s own secure screens, and Slayd never sees or stores your bank account number.
Can I use Slayd before my bank is connected?
Not on the pro side. The bank screen stays in place of the pro side until Stripe can pay you, because clients cannot book or pay for your paid services before then. From that screen you can still contact support, sign out or delete your account, and Use Slayd as a client opens your client side if your account has one. Team members whose business collects their payments are not asked to connect a bank.
On slayd.ai
Not on slayd.ai either: the Connect your bank to get booked screen takes the place of the portal until Stripe approves you. Only Get paid, your subscription and billing, and setup stay open, with Contact support, Sign out and Delete account on that screen.
I work at a salon or studio. Do I need to connect my own bank?
It depends on who receives your clients’ payments, which the business sets in your team agreement. If the business collects payments for you, they go to the business’s payout account, the business pays you under your arrangement, and you are not asked to connect a bank. If you keep your own money, for example as a chair renter or independent, you connect your own bank like a solo pro. A business owner always connects a bank, because the payments the business collects land there.
To set up or check your payouts: Profile tab > gear (Settings) > Payments & Payouts > Bank account.
I run several locations or a large team. How do I sign up?
Send an Enterprise enquiry when you create an account, and Slayd contacts you about pricing and account setup for your group. Sending it does not create an account, and nothing is charged.
Open Slayd and tap Create Account.
Tap I own a business, then Enterprise.
Fill in your details and tap Send enquiry.
Where can I watch the how-to videos?
Short how-to videos for clients and pros are at the top of this page, under How-to videos (slayd.ai/faq#videos), each under a minute. On a pro account, Support at the bottom of the Home tab opens them inside the app.
Open the Home tab and scroll to the bottom.
Under HELP, tap Support.
Tap How-to videos.
Is there an Android app?
The Slayd app is on iPhone. On Android or on a computer, use slayd.ai, the full Slayd web app, where clients find and book pros and pros run their bookings, clients and payouts. A pro’s link (slayd.ai/@username) opens their page, and booking needs a free Slayd account, on the web as in the app.
Your booking page
Your link, your page, and how clients find and book you.
Where is my booking link, and how do I share it?
Your link is slayd.ai/@ followed by your username, and it is on the Your Slayd link card near the top of Settings. Share it wherever clients find you, such as your Instagram bio or a text message, and copy it from the card rather than typing it. If the card says Set a username, set one first: see how to set or change your username.
Tap the Profile tab, then the gear at the top right (Settings).
Find Your Slayd link near the top.
Tap Copy link, or tap Share and choose where to send it.
On slayd.ai
Open Business settings from your account menu. The link is under Your booking link, with Copy link and View your storefront.
What happens when a client opens my link? Do they need the app?
Your link opens your page in the Slayd app for anyone who has it, and on slayd.ai in a browser for anyone who does not. On an iPhone, a link tapped inside another app such as Instagram opens Slayd if it is installed, or offers the App Store. To book, a client needs a free Slayd account, which they can create in the app or on slayd.ai when they book.
How do I see my page the way clients see it?
Open View public profile. It shows your page as clients see it, except that Book buttons are hidden because it is your own page.
Profile tab > gear (Settings) > View public profile, the first row.
Or: Home tab > MANAGE > View public profile.
On slayd.ai
Business settings > Your booking link > View your storefront opens your page in a new tab.
Why do clients see no times to book with me?
Usually your hours are not published, the time falls outside your booking window, or it is blocked as time off. If your hours were never saved, your page shows “Not set” for every day and clients see no times until you save a week. If no client can book you at all, check what must be set up first.
Home tab > MANAGE > My settings > My hours. If it says Your hours are not set, tap Use these hours or edit any day.
In My settings, check MY BOOKING WINDOW (BOOK THIS FAR AHEAD and MINIMUM NOTICE), then tap Save Changes.
Still in My settings, check TIME OFF for days or hours you blocked.
On slayd.ai
Set your hours under Catalog > Hours.
Why don’t I show up in search or on the Book tab?
The usual reasons: your bank is not connected yet, so Slayd cannot pay you; you have no services or classes on your menu; or you are looking from your own account, because Slayd never shows you to yourself. If you work as an employee on a team, clients find you through the business’s page. A page Slayd has hidden or suspended is not listed; contact support if you think that is a mistake.
See your page as clients do: Profile tab > gear (Settings) > View public profile.
Check your bank: Profile tab > gear (Settings) > Payments & Payouts > Bank account.
Add a service: Home tab > TOOLS > Services.
On slayd.ai
The same rules apply on slayd.ai.
How do clients find me in search?
Search shows results from the first letter typed and covers people, pros and businesses together. It matches your name, @username, business name, city, bio and the names of your services, so filling these in helps clients find you. Posts you share also appear on Explore.
Profile tab > EDIT PROFILE: check your name and bio, then tap Save.
Home tab > MANAGE > My settings: add your address under WHERE I WORK so your city is right, then tap Save Changes.
Home tab > TOOLS > Services: name services the way clients search for them.
Home tab > QUICK ACTIONS > Post: share your work.
A client says my page shows “Not taking bookings”. Why?
Clients see this when your page cannot be booked right now: your bank is not connected, or your payment account has been paused or closed; you have no services on your menu; or Slayd has hidden or suspended the account. You do not see the notice on your own page, so check each cause, and the page opens to bookings again once it is fixed. Separately, if your Slayd Pro plan has ended, clients who try to pay are told you are not accepting bookings until you restart it.
Check your bank: Profile tab > gear (Settings) > Payments & Payouts > Bank account.
Post them. Every post you share appears on the Portfolio tab of your page, and a business page’s Portfolio tab shows posts from everyone on the team. Link a service to a post so clients who tap Book on it see that service first. The PORTFOLIO section in My settings is different: those photos stay on your phone for your own reference, and clients do not see them.
Home tab > QUICK ACTIONS > Post.
Choose your photo or video and write a caption.
Tap Link an appointment or service and choose the service.
Tap Post.
On slayd.ai
Open Portfolio in the menu to post your work.
How do I hide or delete a post, or see how it did?
On your Profile tab, press and hold a post, then choose View insights, Hide post or Delete post. Hide post moves it to a HIDDEN tab on your profile on this iPhone only, so clients can still see it; to take a post down for everyone, delete it. Delete post asks first and cannot be undone.
Open the Profile tab.
Press and hold the post.
Tap View insights, Hide post or Delete post. To bring back a hidden post, open the HIDDEN tab, press and hold it and tap Unhide post.
On slayd.ai
Your posts are under Portfolio in the menu.
How do I change my business name?
The business name is the name on your business page and in search, and saving a new one renames the business everywhere. Each business name on Slayd must be unique, and only the business owner can rename it.
Home tab > MANAGE > Business settings.
Tap Edit your studio details (or Add your studio details).
Change BUSINESS NAME and tap Save details.
If you run a business page, you can also open it and tap Edit page.
On slayd.ai
Open Business settings > Business profile, change Business name and tap Save changes.
Who can see my address and phone number?
Your public page shows only your city, and a client gets your full address on their booking once it is confirmed and paid (a deposit counts). Your phone number is not on your page either; if you allow phone calls, clients get it on their confirmed, paid booking. If you travel to clients, choose I travel to clients under TRAVEL in Edit Profile, and you can leave the address out.
Home tab > MANAGE > My settings.
Under WHERE I WORK, tap Search for an address, or type it under STREET ADDRESS.
Under MY CONTACT, enter PHONE CLIENTS CALL and turn Allow phone calls on or off.
Tap Save Changes. A business’s own address is edited on its business page with Edit page.
On slayd.ai
Set your address in Business settings > Business profile. It is private: your page shows your city, and the street address is shared only with clients whose booking is confirmed and paid.
How do I add house rules for clients?
House rules are terms clients read while booking, and they must tick “I have read and agree to the studio rules” before they can confirm, so write them as the terms of the appointment. Rules save as you add or delete them.
Home tab > MANAGE > Business settings.
Under HOUSE RULES, type a rule in Add a rule… and tap Add.
To remove a rule, tap the trash icon next to it.
On slayd.ai
House rules are edited in the iPhone app. Clients who book on slayd.ai see them and agree to them as well.
Bookings and schedule
Hours, time off, requests, rescheduling, cancellations and no-shows.
How do I set my working hours?
Your hours decide which times clients can book. Each day is either open, with one opening and one closing time, or closed, and changes save as you make them. If you work at more than one place, a row of places appears at the top: Everywhere is your own independent hours, and choosing a business sets the only hours clients booking you there see. For a lunch break or a day away, use Time off instead.
Home tab > MANAGE > My settings > My hours. (See all, beside QUICK ACTIONS, jumps to MANAGE.)
Tap a day. Use the switch to open it (Open this day) or close it (Closed all day), set OPENS AT and CLOSES AT, then tap Done.
To change several days at once, use QUICK PRESETS: Match Monday everywhere, Close weekends or Open seven days a week.
Tap Save hours when you are done.
On slayd.ai
Set your hours under Catalog > Hours.
How do I add time off, a day off or a vacation?
Add Time off with Days off selected and tap every day you will be away on the calendar, across months if needed. Days next to each other are saved as one stretch. Clients cannot book you on those days in the app or on your booking page.
Tap Home, then Time off under QUICK ACTIONS. Or, on the Schedule tab, tap Time off beside Today (shown when Filter is set to Just me).
Keep Days off selected.
Tap each day you will be off.
Tap Add.
On slayd.ai
On slayd.ai, tap Time off on Home or on Schedule, keep Days off selected, tap each day on the calendar and tap Add. Remove an entry from the same sheet.
How do I add time off for a lunch break or a few hours?
Add Time off and choose Block time. It closes that window on one day, so clients cannot book it in the app or on your booking page. Each block covers one day, so add one for each day you need.
Tap Home, then Time off under QUICK ACTIONS. Or, on the Schedule tab, tap Time off beside Today (shown when Filter is set to Just me).
Tap Block time.
Set Day, From and Until. You can add a note for yourself; clients never see it.
Tap Add.
On slayd.ai
On slayd.ai, tap Time off on Home or on Schedule, choose Block time, and set the day, From and Until. Remove an entry from the same sheet.
What happens to appointments I already have when I add time off?
Slayd checks before saving. If anything is booked inside the time off, it lists those appointments and asks what to do: keep them and take the rest off, move them to new times, or cancel without saving. When you move one, a booking a client made is sent to the client as a new time to approve and stays where it is until they accept, while an appointment you added yourself moves straight away.
Add your time off and tap Add.
If appointments are listed, tap Keep them, take the rest off, Move them to new times, or Cancel.
If you chose to move them, pick a new time for each one, then tap Done.
How do I change or remove time off?
Remove the entry, then add it again with the new dates. Removing it reopens that time to bookings straight away. Days you added together in one run are a single entry, so removing it reopens all of them.
Home tab > MANAGE > My settings.
Under TIME OFF, tap the x beside the entry.
Tap Remove time off.
How do I pause or stop taking bookings for a while?
There is no pause switch. To stop bookings for a while, add Time off with Days off over those dates: clients cannot book you on those days in the app or on your booking page, and Slayd asks what to do with any appointments you already have in that time. Remove the time off to take bookings again. On a team, the owner can also turn off Clients can book them for one member.
Tap Home, then Time off under QUICK ACTIONS.
Keep Days off selected, tap every day you will not take bookings, then tap Add.
Team owners: Dashboard tab > Team > tap their name > Edit agreement and access, turn off Clients can book them, then tap Save changes.
On slayd.ai
On slayd.ai, tap Time off on Home or on Schedule and add the days in the same way.
How far ahead can clients book me, and how close to the start time?
You set both. BOOK THIS FAR AHEAD is how many days ahead clients can book (1 to 365), and MINIMUM NOTICE is how many hours before a start time booking closes (0 means right up to the start). To open one service further ahead, such as bridal, use SOME SERVICES FURTHER AHEAD.
Home tab > MANAGE > My settings.
Under MY BOOKING WINDOW, type the days in BOOK THIS FAR AHEAD and the hours in MINIMUM NOTICE.
Optional: under SOME SERVICES FURTHER AHEAD, tap Choose a service.
Tap Save Changes.
How do I add cleanup or travel time between appointments?
Set a Booking Buffer. It adds a gap after each appointment that clients cannot book: no buffer, or 5, 10, 15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes.
Tap the Profile tab, then the gear for Settings.
Under Business Policies, tap Booking Buffer.
Choose the gap after each appointment.
Can I approve bookings before they are confirmed?
Yes, service by service. Turn on Requires my confirmation and that service’s bookings arrive as requests for you to accept or decline; with it off, bookings are confirmed instantly. If the service takes a deposit, the client pays it when sending the request and gets it back if you decline. Otherwise the card is only held, and charged when you accept.
Home tab > TOOLS > Services.
Tap the service.
Under BOOKING FLOW, turn on Requires my confirmation.
Tap Save service.
On slayd.ai
Open Catalog > Services, open the service and turn on Requires my confirmation under Booking flow.
Where do I see and answer booking requests?
Requests are on the Dashboard tab, on the Requests page under INCOMING, and when any are waiting, Home also shows a REQUESTS count that opens them. Accept confirms the booking and adds it to your calendar; Decline turns it down. The client is notified either way.
Tap the Dashboard tab, then Requests (or tap REQUESTS on Home).
Under INCOMING, tap the request to see everything the client sent.
Tap Accept, then Accept request. Or tap Decline, then Decline request.
On slayd.ai
Open Bookings and choose the Requests filter, then Accept or Decline.
What happens if I do not answer a request?
Slayd reminds you once, about a day after the request arrives or a day before the appointment, whichever comes first. A request nobody answers closes automatically after six days, or within a day after its appointment time has passed; the client is told, and any hold or deposit goes back to them. Once the appointment’s time has ended, a request can no longer be accepted, so decline it or offer a new time.
Can I change the price or length of a request before I accept it?
Yes, if you are the pro performing it. Change the length or price, then tap Save changes and accept to confirm it with your changes, or Send back for approval to ask the client first: the request stays pending, their card is not charged, and nothing changes until they say yes. When the client’s card is only held, it is held for the original amount, so a higher price cannot be charged to that card.
Dashboard tab > Requests, then tap the request.
Change Length under WHAT THEY WANT, or Price under WHAT IT PAYS.
Tap Save changes and accept, or Send back for approval.
How do I add an appointment or a walk-in myself?
Use New appointment: pick the date and time, choose a client from your list or add a new one, choose the service and check the deposit. You can also pick a time outside your hours. It goes on your Schedule straight away.
On Home, tap New under QUICK ACTIONS, or tap + beside Filter on the Schedule tab.
Under DATE & TIME, set DATE and TIME. Tap Add a time outside my hours for earlier or later times.
Under CLIENT, tap My clients and choose one, or tap New client and enter their name. Add a phone number or email to save them to your client list.
Choose the SERVICE and check the DEPOSIT.
Tap Add appointment.
On slayd.ai
Open Schedule and use New appointment.
If I add an appointment myself, is my client charged or notified?
No. Adding the appointment does not collect payment, and a deposit you enter is recorded on it, not charged. No message or reminder is sent for it unless you send it to the client’s Slayd account, so otherwise confirm the time with your client yourself. Take payment at checkout, or charge a saved card the client has authorized from their client profile.
To put it in your client’s Slayd account, so they get reminders and can pay in the app, open the appointment and find Send (name) this appointment. Send it before you take payment.
Tap Send to (name) and send the link to their phone number.
The client opens the link, signs in or creates a Slayd account, and the appointment is added to their account.
How do I reschedule an appointment?
For a booking a client made, tap Offer a new time: the client is asked, and the appointment stays at its current time until they accept. For an appointment you added yourself, tap Reschedule and it moves straight away. On the Day or Week view you can also press and hold an appointment and drag it to a new time.
On the Schedule tab, tap the appointment.
Tap Offer a new time (or Reschedule).
Choose NEW DATE and NEW TIME, and add a note if you like.
Tap Send this time to (the client’s name), or Confirm reschedule.

Open the booking and use Suggest new time for a client’s booking, or Reschedule for an appointment you added.
What if my client does not answer the new time I offered?
The appointment stays at its original time. An offer closes on its own after 48 hours, or two hours before the original or the new time if that comes first. You can withdraw an open offer from the appointment, and sending another time replaces the first. If the appointment or the new time is less than two hours away, contact the client directly.
Can clients move their own appointment?
Yes. A client can move a booking to another open time with Reschedule, which must fit your hours, time off and notice, and you are notified. A client can also ask for a time up to 24 hours sooner or later with Request a different time. That request arrives as a message in Messages (the speech bubble at the top of Home); it does not move anything by itself. Class bookings cannot be moved; the client cancels and books another session.
Read the request in Messages: it starts with Time change requested.
To move the appointment, open it on the Schedule tab and tap Offer a new time.
Choose the time and send it. The appointment moves once the client accepts.
How do I cancel an appointment?
Open the appointment, tap Cancel and choose a reason. If the client booked through Slayd, they are notified and any payment taken through Slayd is refunded in full to their card, which cannot be undone. A client without a Slayd account on the booking is not notified, so tell them yourself. An appointment you added yourself can be restored for 24 hours, unless you change RESTORE WINDOW in My settings.
On the Schedule tab, tap the appointment.
Tap Cancel, then Yes, cancel.
Under WHY ARE YOU CANCELLING?, choose a reason, then tap Cancel appointment.
On slayd.ai
Open the booking and use Cancel booking.
How do I find or restore an appointment I cancelled?
Cancelled appointments are hidden on your Schedule until you turn on Cancelled in Filter. An appointment you added yourself can be restored until its restore window runs out: 24 hours by default, set with RESTORE WINDOW in My settings, where 0 means it cancels immediately. A booking a client made, or one whose payment was refunded, cannot be restored; book it again instead.
On the Schedule tab, tap Filter, turn on Cancelled under SHOW, then tap Done.
Tap the cancelled appointment.
Under CAN BE RESTORED, tap Restore appointment.
What happens when a client cancels?
You get an Appointment cancelled by client notification and the time opens up on your Schedule. If someone is on the waitlist for that time, the first person waiting is notified automatically. If the service has a late-cancellation fee and the client cancelled inside its window, a Charge late-cancellation fee button appears on the appointment.
On slayd.ai
The late-cancellation fee is charged from the booking too.
How do I mark a client as a no-show?
Open the appointment after its start time and tap No-show; a client who booked through Slayd is told the visit was recorded as missed. If the service has a no-show fee and the client authorized a card on file, the fee is charged in the same step, the button shows the amount, and it cannot be undone; otherwise you can undo within 10 minutes. If Slayd already closed the appointment out as completed, you can still record a no-show for seven days.
On the Schedule tab, tap the appointment.
Tap No-show (it appears once the start time has passed).
Tap Mark no-show.
On slayd.ai
Open the booking and use No-show.
Home says appointments need to be closed out. What does that mean?
An appointment whose time has passed still needs an outcome, so answer each one under NEEDS YOU: Completed, No-show or Cancelled. Changing this record does not issue a refund. If you do not answer, Slayd marks it completed about two hours after it ends, and you can still record a no-show for seven days after that.
On Home, under NEEDS YOU, tap the card that says appointments need to be closed out.
For each appointment, tap Completed, No-show or Cancelled.
How do I check a client in and finish an appointment?
An appointment moves through Confirmed, Checked in, In service and Completed. Tap Check in client when they arrive, then Start service, and when you are done, tap Continue to check out to take any balance; an appointment already paid in full online shows Complete instead. The NEXT UP card on Home also has a Check in button.
On the Schedule tab (or NEXT UP on Home), tap the appointment.
Tap Check in client, then Start service.
Tap Continue to check out, or Complete.
On slayd.ai
The booking has Check in, Start service and Complete buttons.
How does the waitlist work?
When a time is taken, a client can tap it to join the waitlist. If that time opens up, for example after a cancellation, Slayd notifies the first person waiting, and they still book it themselves. You can also notify someone yourself, mark them booked or remove them, and a client who books with you that day for the same service is taken off automatically.
Tap the Dashboard tab, then Requests, then WAITLIST (or Home tab > MANAGE > Waitlist).
Tap a person.
Tap Notify that a spot is open, Mark as booked, or Remove from waitlist.
On slayd.ai
Waitlist (under More) lists who is waiting and lets you remove them.
Do my clients get appointment reminders?
Yes, automatically, for bookings made through Slayd. A client with a Slayd account gets an Upcoming appointment notification about a day before (unless they booked within that day) and again about two hours before, each with a reminder email, and you get a notification at the same two times. Requests, bookings not yet paid, and appointments you add yourself or import are not reminded. Once a client accepts an appointment you sent them with Send (name) this appointment, you are both reminded.
How do I know when someone books, cancels or moves an appointment?
Slayd notifies you of every new booking (New booking) and request (New booking request), and when a client cancels or moves an appointment. You find them all under Notifications, the bell at the top of Home.
How do I change how my Schedule looks?
Tap Filter on the Schedule tab. VIEW switches between Day, Week, Month and List, and SHOW chooses which appointments appear: Requests, Confirmed, Completed, Cancelled and No-show. For the Day and Week views you can also set the TIME STEP, the HOURS SHOWN and whether to Collapse empty closed hours.
On the Schedule tab, tap Filter.
Choose under VIEW, SHOW and the grid options.
Tap Done. Tap Today to jump back to today.
On slayd.ai
Schedule offers Day, Week and Month views.
How do I see my whole team’s schedule?
If you own a business with team members, you can switch the Schedule tab between your own calendar and the whole team’s, and choose whose appointments show. The staff filter resets when you reopen the app, and time off you add applies only to your own calendar.
On the Schedule tab, tap Filter.
Under WHOSE CALENDAR, tap The whole team.
Under TEAM, choose Everyone or tap individual people, then tap Done.
How do group sessions and classes work?
A group session is one time that several clients book, such as a class or workshop, with the capacity, price and an optional Minimum to run that you set. Clients hold a spot with a saved card and are charged when you confirm, and once it is full they can join its waitlist. If a minimum is set and too few have booked 24 hours before, it is called off automatically and nobody is charged; if someone has already paid, Slayd asks you instead.
Home tab > TOOLS > Services > Add to your menu > Group session. Or tap + on the Schedule tab and choose Group.
Set WHEN, Capacity, PRICE and Minimum to run, then tap Add.
If you run only classes, your Schedule tab lists them: tap a class to see who booked, then tap Confirm and charge, or Cancel this class to cancel that date only.
Can I sell packages or memberships?
Yes. On your Services page, Add to your menu offers Appointment package (a set number of appointments paid once) and Appointment membership (appointments each month on a recurring charge), and once you run classes or group sessions, Class pass and Class membership too. Clients buy them on your page, and each covered booking then uses one of their credits instead of a payment.
Home tab > TOOLS > Services.
Tap Add to your menu.
Choose Appointment package, Appointment membership, Class pass or Class membership, set it up and save.
On slayd.ai
Open Catalog, then Passes for class passes or Memberships for memberships. Appointment packages are made in the app.
Can I sync my Slayd schedule with Google Calendar or Apple Calendar?
Not automatically; the Schedule tab is your Slayd calendar. You can bring appointments in from another app or a calendar file with Import appointments. Clients can add their own booking to their phone’s calendar, and their confirmation email includes a calendar file.
Home tab > MANAGE > My settings > Import appointments.
Clients and messages
Your client list, imports, messages, notifications and reviews.
Where do I find my clients?
Your client list is on the Dashboard tab, on the Clients page. Search by name, phone or email, and use the filter button to show All, Recent (seen in the last 90 days), Card on file, or Needs attention (blocked, a no-show, or cancelled more than once). Tap a client to open their profile.
Tap the Dashboard tab, then Clients at the top if another page is showing.
Type in the search box (Search name, phone, email), or tap the filter button below it.
Tap a client to open their profile.
On slayd.ai
Choose Clients in the menu. It lists everyone who has booked you, and choosing a client opens their details, with Message and Block from booking for clients who have a Slayd account.
How do I add a client?
Tap Add Client, choose Add manually, and enter their name and a mobile number or an email address; one of the two is required so you can reach them and tell two people with the same name apart. If someone in your list already has that number or email, Slayd shows their name instead of making a second record. Adding a client does not message them.
Dashboard tab > Clients.
Tap Add Client, beside the search box, and choose Add manually.
Enter the name and a mobile number (all ten digits, including the area code) or an email address.
Tap Save client.
How do I invite a client to Slayd or connect their Slayd account?
Tap the paper plane beside the search box on the Clients page, enter their name and mobile number, and tap Create and send by text: Messages opens with the link ready, so the text comes from your own number. The link stays valid for 14 days, and when they accept, they join your client list with their Slayd account linked and you are notified. On a device that cannot send texts, tap Create link and share it another way.
Dashboard tab > Clients.
Tap the paper plane button beside the search box.
Enter their name and mobile number (email is optional).
Tap Create and send by text, then send it in Messages.
Do clients who book me appear in my client list automatically?
Yes. Anyone who books you through Slayd appears on your Clients page, and so does anyone on an appointment you add yourself. Client origin on their profile says where they came from: Booked through Slayd, Linked Slayd account, Added by you, or From an appointment. A client who appears only through an appointment has no saved record yet; tap Edit on their profile to save their details and notes.
Dashboard tab > Clients, tap the client, then tap Client origin.
On slayd.ai
The Clients page lists everyone who has booked you.
How do I change a client’s name, phone number or email?
Open the client’s profile and tap Edit at the top right, change the name, mobile, email or notes, then tap Save changes. If the Text, Call or Email button on their profile shows Add, that detail is missing, and tapping it opens the same screen.
Dashboard tab > Clients, tap the client.
Tap Edit at the top right.
Make your changes and tap Save changes.
Where do I keep notes about a client, and who can see them?
Open the client’s profile and tap Notes and forms. Notes is for things like color formulas, allergies and preferences, and Private note is visible only to you; clients never see either, and teammates never see your notes, even if you share your client list with your team. The same screen lists the forms you sent the client and whether each one is signed.
Dashboard tab > Clients, tap the client.
Tap Notes and forms.
Type in NOTES or PRIVATE NOTE and tap Save.
How do I get clients to sign a consent form, waiver or intake form?
Make the form once under Client forms, then attach it to a service or send it for one appointment. A form is Consent (signed before service), Policy (for all bookings) or Intake (for new clients), and can have text, a PDF and questions to fill in. A form attached to a service is sent with every booking of that service.
Forms go only to clients with a Slayd account and an upcoming booking. The client sees FORM TO SIGN on their booking and signs by typing their full legal name. You can follow forms under AWAITING SIGNATURE and RECENT SIGNATURES, or on the client’s profile under Notes and forms.
Home tab > TOOLS > Services, then tap Client forms near the bottom.
Tap Create new form, choose Consent, Policy or Intake, and write the form.
To require it for a service: in Services, tap the service, turn on Requires a form under CLIENT FORM, choose the form and tap Save service.
To send it for one appointment: in Client forms, tap Send a form, pick the upcoming appointment and tap Send form.
On slayd.ai
Forms is under More in the menu.
How do I see a client’s visit history and photos?
Open the client’s profile: the top shows their number of visits. Client portfolio holds their before-and-after photos, saved looks and service history, which lists each visit’s date, service and price including tip, and Notes and forms holds your notes and their forms.
Dashboard tab > Clients, tap the client.
Tap Client portfolio.
On slayd.ai
A client’s details on the Clients page show their visit history.
How do I book an appointment for one of my clients?
Open the client’s profile and tap Book appointment (Book class for a fitness pro). The New appointment screen opens with that client already chosen, including their phone and email.
Dashboard tab > Clients, tap the client.
Tap Book appointment.
Choose the service, date and time, then tap Add appointment.
How do I remove a client from my list?
Removing a client takes them off your client list only: their appointments, receipts and payments are kept, and upcoming appointments are not cancelled, so cancel those yourself if needed. You can also press and hold a client in the list and tap Remove client. Adding them again with the same phone number or email brings the record back.
Dashboard tab > Clients, tap the client.
Scroll down and tap Remove client.
Tap Remove (name) to confirm.
Can I show some services only to certain clients?
Yes. Put clients in a group, then limit the service to that group or to individual clients. Clients never see the group or who else is in it, and only clients with a Slayd account can be given access.
Dashboard tab > Clients > Groups > New group. Name the group, choose members and tap Save.
Home tab > TOOLS > Services, open the service.
Under WHO CAN SEE THIS, turn on Limit who can see this and choose groups or clients.
Tap Save service.
Can I stop a client from booking me?
Yes. Once blocked, they can no longer book you, your services are no longer shown to them, and if they try, they see “This professional is not available for booking right now”; the same block stops them messaging you, following you and commenting on your posts. Appointments already on your schedule stay until you cancel them, and Let (name) book again on the same profile undoes it. A client you added by hand with no Slayd account has no account to block.
Dashboard tab > Clients, tap the client.
Tap Block (name) from booking.
Tap Block to confirm.
On slayd.ai
Open Clients, choose the client, then Block from booking (or Unblock). It is the same block as in the app.
How do I block or report someone?
From a profile, tap the three dots at the top right and choose Block or Report; in a conversation, tap the info button at the top right. To report a single message, press and hold it and tap Report message. Slayd aims to review reports within 24 hours, and the person is not told who reported them. A block also stops them messaging you, following you, commenting on your posts and booking you.
On their profile, tap the three dots at the top right, or in the conversation, tap the info button.
Tap Block and confirm, or tap Report and choose a reason.
To unblock: Profile tab > gear (Settings) > Privacy > Blocked Users. For a client you blocked from their client profile, use Let (name) book again there instead.
Can I bring my clients over from my old booking app?
Yes. Export your client list or your appointments from your old app, then import the file: Slayd asks which app you are moving from and shows that app’s export steps for 15 apps, plus A spreadsheet I already have and Another app. You check the matched columns and a preview before anything is saved. On a new account, the Import your clients card on the Clients page opens the same screen.
Home tab > MANAGE > My settings.
Under IMPORT YOUR BOOK, tap Import clients or Import appointments.
Choose the app you are moving from, then Show the steps or I already have the file.
Pick your file, check the columns, then preview and import.
On slayd.ai
Choose Import clients in the menu (under More), or Business settings > Import your clients. The website accepts CSV and calendar (.ics) files only; finish an Excel or PDF file in the iPhone app.
Which files can I import?
For clients: a CSV, an Excel workbook (.xlsx or .xlsm), or a PDF exported by your old app. For appointments: a CSV, an Excel workbook or a calendar file (.ics). An older .xls, a Numbers file or an OpenDocument file must be saved again as .xlsx or CSV first, a scanned or photographed PDF cannot be read, and a file can have up to 20,000 rows, so split a larger one.
On slayd.ai
The website accepts CSV and .ics files only.
My export has report details above the column headings. Do I need to delete them?
No. Slayd looks through the first 25 lines of the file for the row of column headings and skips the report details above it. On Check the columns, each Slayd field shows the column it was matched to with an example from your file; tap a field to change it, or choose Leave this field empty. If Slayd says the file has no column headings, export it again from your old app with a header row.
Tap Import clients or Import appointments, then pick your file.
On Check the columns, tap any field to change its column.
Tap Preview what will be created.
What comes across in an import, and what does not?
Client names, mobile numbers and email addresses come across, plus notes, visit counts, spend and last-visit dates when your file has them. Addresses, tags and birthdays are not imported, and card details are never part of an import, so clients add a card again in Slayd. A row with a name but no phone number and no email address does not become a client: add one of them to the file and import it again.
Will importing message my clients, charge them, or create duplicates?
No. An import sends no message and charges nothing. In the preview, a client already in your list (matched by phone number, then email address) is marked Already in clients and an appointment already on your schedule Already on schedule, and both start unticked so they are not added twice. Nothing is saved until you confirm the preview, and ticking an existing client fills in details missing from their record instead of creating a second one.
A client prepaid on my old booking app. How do I record it?
If your appointment export has a deposit or prepayment column, match it to Already paid on Check the columns when you import appointments; otherwise, add it on the appointment under Paid on another app. The amount comes off the balance at checkout and shows on the receipt, and because Slayd did not collect it, it cannot be refunded through Slayd. You can add it only on an appointment you added or imported, while a balance is still owed.
Schedule tab, tap the appointment.
In PAYMENT, tap Add beside Paid on another app.
Enter the AMOUNT PAID and the APP it was paid on.
Tap Save.
Why does a client show visits but no past appointments?
The visit count can come from your import: a client import brings over how many visits a client had, but not each visit as an appointment, so the profile says Imported from your previous system. Past visits from an appointment import are kept on the iPhone you imported them on.
Can I export my client list?
Yes. Export your book saves your clients and receipts as CSV files you can save or send. The client file has name, phone, email, visits, no-shows, cancellations, lifetime spend, last visit, first seen, whether the client is blocked, and notes; private notes are not included. The button appears once you have clients or receipts.
Home tab > MANAGE > My settings.
Tap Export your book.
Choose where to save or send the files.
Is my client list saved if I get a new iPhone?
Yes. Your client list, including notes, is saved to your Slayd account and comes back when you sign in on another iPhone. Before-and-after photos saved on a client stay on the phone they were added on, and so do past visits brought in by an appointment import.
How do I message a client?
Open Messages, the speech bubble at the top right of the Home tab, tap the client’s conversation, type and tap the arrow; to start a new conversation, tap the pencil button and search their name. From an appointment, tap Contact, then Message in Slayd. Tap the photo button to send a photo, and the client is notified of new messages unless they have turned message notifications off.
Home tab, tap Messages at the top right.
Tap the client, or tap the pencil button and search their name.
Type your message and tap the arrow.
On slayd.ai
Choose Messages in the menu, or open a client on the Clients page and choose Message.
Can I message a client who is not on Slayd, or message all my clients at once?
Messages in Slayd go only to people with a Slayd account, one person at a time; there is no message to all clients. For a client without the app, tap Text, Call or Email on their profile, which opens your phone’s own apps with their details. To bring them onto Slayd, invite them with the paper plane on the Clients page.
Dashboard tab > Clients, tap the client.
Tap Text, Call or Email.
How do I delete, pin or mark a conversation as unread?
In Messages, press and hold the conversation, then choose Pin to top, Mark unread (or Mark read), or Delete. Delete removes the conversation from your inbox on this iPhone only: the other person keeps it, and it comes back if a new message arrives. The search box at the top finds a conversation.
Where do I see my notifications?
On the Home tab, tap the bell at the top right. Notifications lists everything, with filters for Bookings, Cancels, Follows, Likes, Team, Payments and Waitlist, and for Today or This week. Tap Mark all read, Clear all to remove every notification, or Select to choose some and delete them.
On slayd.ai
Choose Notifications in the menu (under More).
Where do I see my reviews and rating?
On the Home tab, tap Reviews. My Ratings shows your average and every review from the past 12 months; each review counts for one year and shows how many days it has left. Tap Options on a review to view the reviewer’s profile or report the review.
On slayd.ai
Choose Ratings in the menu (under More).
Who can leave me a review, and can I remove or reply to one?
Only a client who booked you on Slayd and paid for the visit (online, in person and recorded in Slayd, or with a package) can review it, once per visit. You cannot delete, hide or reply to a review, but if one breaks the Community Guidelines, tap Options on it, then Report review, and Slayd will look at it. Reviews older than one year stop counting toward your rating.
Home tab > Reviews.
Tap Options on the review, then Report review.
Getting paid
Your bank, payouts and payout schedule, deposits, checkout, card on file and refunds.
How do I get paid?
Clients pay by card through Slayd, and Stripe, Slayd’s payment processor, sends your share to the bank account you connect on the Get paid page. You connect it once, and after that payouts are automatic on your payout schedule, which is daily unless you change it. Slayd never sees or stores your bank account number.
Open the Profile tab and tap the gear at the top to open Settings.
Under Payments & Payouts, tap Bank account. This opens Get paid.
Tap Set up payouts and finish Stripe’s secure setup.
On slayd.ai
Choose Get paid in the menu (it is also under Business settings > Payments and payouts > Get paid), then Set up payouts.
How do I connect my bank account?
Open Get paid and tap Set up payouts. Stripe confirms who you are, as the law requires, and asks for the bank account your earnings are paid into, which takes a few minutes. If you stop partway, the button reads Finish payout setup and what you already sent is kept, and once Stripe approves you, Get paid shows ACTIVE.
Tap Set up payouts (it reads Finish payout setup if you started before, or Update details with Stripe if Stripe needs more from you).
Complete Stripe’s steps, then return to Slayd.
On slayd.ai
Choose Get paid in the menu, then Set up payouts.
Where is the Get paid page, and what does it show?
Get paid is your payout account inside Slayd, read live from Stripe. It shows whether payouts are active, your Balance (Available and On the way), the Bank account Stripe pays into, your Payout schedule, Recent payouts with their status and arrival date, and Tax forms.
From Settings: Profile tab > gear (Settings) > Payments & Payouts > Bank account.
Or from Home: tap Earnings details, then Bank account and payouts.
On slayd.ai
Choose Get paid in the menu. It has the same sections, with the payout schedule on the same page.
How do I change my payout date or schedule?
Choose Daily (every business day, the default), Weekly on the day you pick, or Monthly on the date you pick; if a month is shorter than your date, Stripe pays on its last day. The change is saved with Stripe, and the screen shows the schedule Stripe confirmed. You need a connected bank account first.
Profile tab > gear (Settings) > Payments & Payouts > Payout Schedule. (Or on Get paid, tap the card under Payout schedule, Change when you are paid.)
Choose Daily, Weekly or Monthly.
For Weekly, pick the day under Pay out every. For Monthly, pick the date under Pay out on the.
Tap Save schedule. A message confirms it, for example: Payouts set to weekly on Fridays.
On slayd.ai
Open Get paid in the menu. The Payout schedule section is on that page: choose Daily, Weekly or Monthly, then Save schedule.
When do I get paid, and when does the money reach my bank?
A card payment becomes available about two business days after the charge, then is paid out on your schedule: every business day on Daily, or on the day or date you chose. Your bank’s standard timing applies after that. On Get paid, On the way is money not yet available, Available goes out with your next scheduled payout, and Recent payouts shows each payout’s expected or actual arrival date.
No. Slayd does not offer instant payouts. Payouts are sent automatically on your payout schedule, and Daily, the default, is the fastest: it pays out every business day once money becomes available, about two business days after each payment. Your bank’s standard timing applies.
How do I change the bank account my payouts go to?
On Get paid, the Bank account card shows the bank Stripe pays into and its last four digits. Tap Change bank account and enter the new account in Stripe’s secure form; payouts go to the new account from then on. If Stripe could not pay into or verify your account, the card says so in red.
Enter the new account in Stripe’s form and finish.
On slayd.ai
Get paid > Bank account > Change bank account.
A payout failed or did not arrive. What do I do?
Home shows an alert, “A payout of (amount) did not arrive”, with Stripe’s reason. On Get paid, the payout is marked FAILED under Recent payouts with the reason, and the Bank account card says when the account itself is the problem. Update it with Change bank account, or email support@slayd.ai if you are unsure what to fix.
Check Recent payouts for the FAILED payout and its reason.
Under Bank account, tap Change bank account if the bank was the problem.
Stripe says it needs more information, or my payouts are paused. What do I do?
When Stripe needs more details to keep card payments and payouts on, Get paid and Home show “Action needed: Stripe needs more information”, often with a date to respond by. Tap Update details on Get paid (or Open Get paid on Home), and Stripe asks for exactly what it needs. If payouts are paused or the account is closed, there is nothing to submit: the page says whether Slayd or Stripe made the decision, and support@slayd.ai can help with the next step.
Tap Update details (or Update details with Stripe) and complete what Stripe asks for.
On slayd.ai
The same notice and Update details button are on Get paid.
Where do I find my 1099 tax forms?
Your tax forms come through Stripe, which collects your tax ID when you set up payouts. On Get paid, tap Tax forms (1099) to open your Stripe Express account in a secure in-app window and download them. Slayd does not file taxes on your behalf.
Where can I see what I earned and what Slayd charged?
On the Home tab, Payments shows your available balance, card and cash totals and your payment history; tap a payment to see Service, Tip, Booking fee and Net to you, plus any refund. Earnings details on Home shows your balance, recent payouts and totals for a period you choose. Cash you record is listed separately, because Stripe does not pay it out.
On the Home tab, under TOOLS, tap Payments.
Tap any payment to see its breakdown, or tap See all under EARNINGS HISTORY.
On slayd.ai
Payments is in the menu.
Where do I see my business analytics and expenses?
Analytics shows how your business is doing over the range you choose under SHOWING: Week, Month, Quarter, Year or Custom. It has your REVENUE TREND, PRODUCT MIX (services and retail), MOST BOOKED services, CLIENT RETENTION, ENGAGEMENT and INSIGHTS. Tap Log an expense to record costs such as supplies, so you can see what is left after expenses.
Home tab > MANAGE > Analytics.
Choose a range under SHOWING.
To add a cost, tap Log an expense.
On slayd.ai
Analytics is under More in the menu.
How do I take a deposit?
Deposits are set per service, as a percentage or a fixed amount of at least $10. The client pays the deposit, plus the booking fee shown at checkout, when they book, including when they send a request, and the balance is due at the appointment.
Home tab > TOOLS > Services, then tap the service.
Under PRICING, turn on Require a deposit.
Next to Deposit charged at booking, choose % or $ and set the amount.
Tap Save service.
What is the difference between a deposit and full payment?
With Require a deposit on, the client pays part of the price to hold the appointment and the rest at the appointment. With it off, the client is charged the full price when they book. If the service needs your confirmation and has no deposit, the full price is only held on the client’s card until you accept.
How do I collect the rest of the price after a deposit?
At checkout, the deposit already paid is taken off, so only the balance is due. The client can also pay the balance themselves in the app, from the appointment’s details.
On the Home tab, tap Checkout and pick the visit (or open the appointment), then tap Continue to check out.
Tap Continue to payment, add a tip if there is one, and tap Pay.
Choose Cash, Pay with card or Enter card manually.
Can I keep the deposit if a client cancels?
Yes, if you make it non-refundable: with Non-refundable deposit on, you keep the deposit amount when a client cancels, even if they paid in full, and the rest is refunded. REFUNDS ALLOWED UNTIL, under CANCELLATION, sets a notice period, and a client who cancels before it gets everything back. These terms are shown to clients before they book and apply automatically when they cancel in the app.
Home tab > TOOLS > Services, then tap the service.
Under PRICING, with Require a deposit on, turn on Non-refundable deposit.
Under CANCELLATION, set REFUNDS ALLOWED UNTIL (None, 24 hours, 48 hours, 72 hours, 1 week, or any number of hours up to one week).
Tap Save service.
Can I charge for no-shows and late cancellations?
Yes, per service. Turn on Charge for no-shows, then set the percentage of the price for a missed appointment, the percentage for a late cancellation, and how many hours before the start counts as late. A fee can only be charged if the client was shown these terms when they booked and has a card on file with you, and never more than once for a booking.
Home tab > TOOLS > Services, then tap the service.
Under CANCELLATION, turn on Charge for no-shows.
Set If the client does not attend, If the client cancels late, and “Late” means within.
Tap Save service.
How do I charge a no-show or late-cancellation fee?
For a no-show, tap No-show on the appointment after its start time: if the booking carries a no-show fee, the confirmation shows the amount and the client’s card on file is charged when you confirm. For a late cancellation, tap Charge late-cancellation fee on the cancelled appointment, which appears only when the client cancelled inside the window they agreed to. A fee is charged once per booking, money you already hold for the visit counts toward it, and a fee under $10, or under $10 left after that, cannot be charged by card. The client is notified.
Open the appointment from the Schedule or Dashboard tab.
For a no-show, tap No-show and confirm. For a late cancellation, tap Charge late-cancellation fee and confirm.
On slayd.ai
No-show and Charge late-cancellation fee are also on the booking.
How do I take payment at the appointment?
Use Checkout on Home: pick the visit, add any extra services or products and a tip, and tap Pay. Then choose Cash to record cash you received, Pay with card to charge the card the client saved with you, or Enter card manually so the client enters a card on your phone. From version 1.08, Text a payment link sends the client a link that opens the appointment in their Slayd app, where they pay the rest with Apple Pay or a card. For a client without a Slayd account, Send payment link texts them a secure link to pay on slayd.ai, and Enter card lets you type their card once your business has been paid by card by at least three different clients and your payout account is 30 days old. Tap to Pay on iPhone, for a contactless card or wallet, is coming in the next app update (1.08) and will appear here as another way to take payment.
On the Home tab, under QUICK ACTIONS, tap Checkout and pick the visit.
Tap Continue to check out, review the visit, then tap Continue to payment.
Add a tip under TIP if there is one, then tap Pay.
Choose Cash, Pay with card or Enter card manually (or, from version 1.08, Text a payment link or Tap to Pay on iPhone).
On slayd.ai
Take payment on an appointment records money taken at the counter (the amount and an optional tip). It does not charge a card.
How do I record a cash payment?
At checkout, tap Pay, choose Cash, check the amount and tap Record payment. Slayd marks the visit paid and keeps the record, but does not charge the client, takes no fee, and does not include cash in your payouts.
Home > Checkout, pick the visit, then Continue to check out and Continue to payment.
Tap Pay, then Cash.
Check the amount and tap Record payment.
On slayd.ai
Open the appointment, use Take payment, then Record payment.
How do tips work?
Add the tip at checkout, under TIP: None, 15%, 18% or 20% of the services (not retail or tax), or Other for any amount.
It is collected together with the balance and goes to you in full, with no Slayd fee. It appears as Tip on the payment and on the client’s receipt.
At checkout, under TIP, choose an amount or Other.
Tap Pay and choose how the client pays.
On slayd.ai
Take payment has a Tip (optional) field, recorded with the payment.
How do I sell products and track stock?
Add your products once in My settings with a name, a price and how many you have. They then appear as one-tap items under RETAIL at checkout, and the stock count goes down automatically each time one is sold. Sales tax applies to products, not services, at the In-person rate in Tax Settings.
Home tab > MANAGE > My settings > Retail Products.
Under ADD A PRODUCT, enter the Product name, Price and Stock, then tap Add.
At checkout, tap the product under RETAIL to add it to the visit.
Can I charge a client’s saved card?
Yes, if the client saved a card with you and authorized you to charge it: at checkout choose Pay with card, or tap Charge card on file on the appointment or on the client’s Card on file page. A card charge must be at least $10, and the client is notified. Charge only for services and products the client received or agreed to, or a fee their booking carried.
At checkout, tap Pay, then Pay with card.
Or open the client’s profile, tap Card on file, then Charge card on file.
How do I keep a client’s card on file?
Open the client’s profile and tap Card on file. If the client has a Slayd account and is with you, tap Add a card on file and hand them your phone: they read the authorization and enter the card themselves. Otherwise send a card request, which they accept and complete on their own phone, and which needs their full mobile number on their profile. You never type a card number, and the client can remove the authorization at any time.
Dashboard tab > Clients, tap the client, then Card on file.
Client with you: tap Add a card on file and hand over your phone.
Not with you, or no Slayd account yet: tap Send a card request instead (Request card on file when they have no account), then Send the link.
Can I take cards in person with Tap to Pay on iPhone?
Tap to Pay on iPhone is coming in the next Slayd app update (version 1.08). After you update, it takes contactless cards, Apple Pay and other digital wallets on your own iPhone, with no extra hardware, as long as your payout account is active. It will need an iPhone XS or later with iOS 18 or later, and it is not offered on iPad. The first time, Slayd will ask you to enable it and accept Apple’s terms, then show Apple’s how-to. Tips and sales tax carry no fee, and a payment can be as small as $0.50. After an approved payment you can text the client a receipt from the payment screen.
After updating to 1.08: on the Home tab, tap Tap to Pay on iPhone. At checkout, it is also one of the ways to take payment.
The first time, tap Enable Tap to Pay on iPhone and accept Apple’s terms.
Choose the appointment or client the payment is for, or enter an amount, then tap Tap to Pay on iPhone.
The client holds a contactless card, phone or watch near the top of your iPhone until the payment is approved.
To see Apple’s how-to again: Profile tab > gear (Settings) > Support > How to use Tap to Pay on iPhone.
How do I refund a client?
Open the appointment and tap Refund this appointment, or use Refunds on Home. Choose Full refund, Partial refund or Store credit, enter the amount on your price (the client’s booking fee on it goes back too), and tap Issue refund. A card refund returns to the client’s original card and cannot be undone; a cash refund is only recorded, so hand the cash back yourself, and store credit is recorded without moving money.
Home tab > MANAGE > Refunds > Refund a past appointment, then find the appointment. (Or open the appointment and tap Refund this appointment.)
Choose Full refund, Partial refund or Store credit.
Enter the amount, add a reason if you like, and tap Issue refund.
On slayd.ai
Refunds is under More in the menu.
What happens if a client disputes a payment (a chargeback)?
Slayd notifies you in the app and by email with the amount, the reason and the date to respond by. If the client’s bank takes the money back, your share is taken from your Stripe balance and returned if the dispute is decided in your favor; a bank inquiry that has not become a chargeback takes nothing. Before that date, email support@slayd.ai with anything that shows the service was provided, such as the booking, your messages and any signed forms.
Do clients get a receipt, and where are my receipts?
When a client pays for a booking in Slayd, a receipt is emailed to the address they booked with as soon as the charge completes, with no setup needed. Your copies are under Receipts on Home, created automatically at checkout, and Export for QuickBooks (CSV) exports them for your books.
Home tab > MANAGE > Receipts.
Tap a receipt to see it, or tap Export for QuickBooks (CSV).
On slayd.ai
Receipts is under More in the menu.
Fees and pricing
What Slayd charges, minimum prices, promotions and sales tax.
What does Slayd charge per booking?
Slayd’s fee is taken from each card payment and shown as Booking fee in your payments, and there is no separate card processing charge. Clients see their own booking fee before they pay. You see exactly what you receive for every payment in Payments.
Does Slayd take a fee on tips, sales tax or cash?
No. Tips and sales tax are added on top of the charge and passed to you in full, with no Slayd fee. Cash you record at checkout is not processed by Slayd, carries no fee, and is not part of your payouts.
Is there a minimum price or charge?
Yes. A service is either free or at least $10, and a deposit is at least $10.
A charge to a saved card, a typed card or a payment link, and a no-show or late-cancellation fee, must also be at least $10, so collect a smaller amount in cash. Tap to Pay on iPhone, coming in the next app update (1.08), will take payments from $0.50.
What happens to the fees when I refund or cancel a paid booking?
If you cancel or refund a paid booking in full yourself, the client gets back everything they paid, including their booking fee, and Slayd keeps its fees, which come out of your balance. It shows as Fee retained on refund in Payments, and the same applies when you decline a request that took a deposit or let it expire unanswered. A partial refund, or a client’s own cancellation under your policy, returns the fees in proportion.
How do I run a promotion or give clients a discount code?
Promos has two kinds of discount. A deal is Last-Minute (a same-day opening), Limited Offer (over a date range) or Happy Hour (a weekly window), and it is applied automatically when a client books that service in that time. A promo code is a code you share, with a % or $ discount, that clients type in Promo code at checkout.
A code and a deal never combine: the client gets the larger discount. A promo must leave a price above $0, and fees are charged on the discounted price.
Home tab > TOOLS > Promos.
For a deal: tap Create promo, choose Last-Minute, Limited Offer or Happy Hour, fill in PICK A SERVICE, PRICING and PROMO PERIOD (or WEEKLY WINDOW), then tap Post Opening, Launch Offer or Schedule Happy Hour.
For a code: under PROMO CODES, tap Add a code, enter the CODE (or generate one) and the DISCOUNT as % off or $ off, then tap Save code.
On slayd.ai
Codes are under Catalog > Promo codes, and deals under More > Deals.
How does sales tax work?
Set it in Tax Settings. With a Business state chosen and Collect sales tax on, online bookings are taxed at your state’s base rate (local taxes are not included), and your In-person rate applies only to what you charge in person. Clients see the tax before they pay, it is passed to you in full with no Slayd fee, and Slayd does not file or remit taxes for you.
Under Sales tax, choose Business state and turn on Collect sales tax.
Set the In-person rate if you sell in person.
Teams and salons
Running a team, joining one, chair renters and team seats.
How do I set up a team for my salon or studio?
Creating a team turns your account into a business that other professionals can join, and the team name is the name clients see for your business. You keep your own Slayd Pro plan, and each person you add has a $9.99 a month team seat, paid by you or by them. You can also start from Home tab > Upgrade account > Add team members, which opens Create a business.
Open the Dashboard tab and tap Team, the last option in the switcher at the top.
Under YOUR TEAM, tap Create a team. If the card shows “Your team will be listed as” a name, tap Change first to edit it.
If asked, enter your TEAM NAME (2 to 80 characters) and tap Create a team.
When the team page appears, tap Add a team member to send your first invitation.
On slayd.ai
The team page is under More > Team, where Invite sends an invitation link and Add with a code is the older way to add someone. Invitation links come from a business you own, and publishing your business on slayd.ai with Publish my business sets one up. If the Invitations card on More > Team asks you to set your team up in the Slayd iPhone app, follow the steps above first, then invite people from here.
How do I add or invite someone to my team?
You confirm the team seat rate, enter the person’s name, set their agreement and choose who pays their seat, and Slayd then creates an invitation link that you send yourself. The name only labels the invitation, and their own Slayd profile replaces it when they join. The link works once and expires after two weeks, and nobody is billed until they accept.
Dashboard tab > Team > Add a team member.
Tap I understand the $9.99 monthly cost (the team seat rate), then tap Continue to invitation.
Enter First name and Last name, then tap Next: team agreement.
Choose a TEAM MEMBER ROLE, open PAY & BOOKING SETTINGS to set Working as (Employee or Independent) and their pay, then tap Next: subscription payment.
Under SUBSCRIPTION PAYMENT, turn on Pay for this member’s subscription if you will pay their seat, or leave it off for them to pay.
Tap Generate link, then Share link or Copy link.
On slayd.ai
More > Team > Invite. Enter their name, choose Employee or Chair renter, and choose who pays their $9.99 seat: They do, in the Slayd app, or I do, on your card from the day they join. Tap Create link, then copy, text or email it. The link works once, for fourteen days unless you withdraw it, and carries the standard terms; to write your own contract, send the invitation from the Slayd iPhone app.
Add with a code, the older way, gives an eight-character code instead. Someone you add with a code is billed to you, prorated, from the day you add them. When they enter the code, a free seat covers them from then on if one is left. Otherwise you keep paying their $9.99 seat until you remove them. The code works for fourteen days, and they enter it in the Slayd iPhone app when creating their professional account.
How much does each team member cost, and who pays for it?
A team seat is $9.99 a month instead of the $19.99 a professional pays on their own; it replaces their plan and is never charged on top of it. You choose who pays when you invite them: you, by card through Slayd’s billing page, or them, through the App Store in the Slayd iPhone app. Your own Slayd Pro plan is separate. If your own Slayd Pro is billed by card, the seats you pay for are added to that subscription and billed, prorated, from the day each person accepts. Otherwise they go on a separate card seats subscription whose first 30 days are free, once per payer, and anyone added after that is billed, prorated, from the day they accept.
See what you pay today: Dashboard tab > Team > Team billing (under MORE).
Change who pays for one person: Dashboard tab > Team > tap their name > Change billing.
On slayd.ai
People you invite with a link from More > Team are paid for by whoever you chose on the invitation. Someone you add with a code is billed to you, prorated, from the day you add them. When they enter the code, a free seat covers them from then on if one is left. Otherwise you keep paying their $9.99 seat until you remove them.
How do I add or change the card that pays for my team’s seats?
Seats you pay for are charged to a card through Stripe on Slayd’s billing page, not through the App Store, and the card is held by Stripe, never by Slayd. If you choose to pay for someone’s seat before a card is set up, the invitation shows Set up seat billing; once that is active, return to the invitation and tap Generate link.
Dashboard tab > Team > Team billing (under MORE), or Profile tab > gear (Settings) > Payments & Payouts > Team billing.
Under YOUR CARD, tap Add a card, or Manage the card on file.
Finish on Slayd’s billing page, then return to the app.
On slayd.ai
Go to slayd.ai/billing and sign in with the same account.
Can I change who pays for a team member’s seat after they join?
Yes, whoever the seat is billed to can switch. Going on record as carrying it puts the seat on your card, and the subscription the member pays ends at the end of the month they already paid for; if they pay through Apple, only they can cancel it in their Apple ID settings. Handing it back gives them notice rather than a cut-off: you keep paying until the date Slayd gives them, currently seven days later, so they can take it over.
Dashboard tab > Team > tap the team member’s name.
Tap Change billing.
Under WHO CARRIES THEIR SLAYD, tap Go on record as carrying it and confirm with Carry it, or tap Hand it back to them and confirm with Give notice.
I have a code for free team seats. Where do I enter it?
Only the business owner can redeem a team seat code, and the seats are saved to your team, so you enter it once. A free seat covers a member who was set to pay for their own seat and does not already have Slayd Pro of their own; it is used only when they accept, and it is not returned if they later leave. Seats you choose to pay for on an invitation are billed as usual even while free seats remain. Someone who joins your team with an eight-character code is the exception, even though you pay their seat: you are billed for it, prorated, from the day you add them, and when they enter the code, a free seat covers them from then on if one is left.
Dashboard tab > Team.
Under ADD A TEAM MEMBER, in HAVE A CODE?, enter the code and tap Apply. The same box appears on the Who pays their seat step of an invitation.
When you invite someone, leave Pay for this member’s subscription off so a free seat can cover them.
FREE SEATS on the Team page shows how many are left.
On slayd.ai
More > Team shows a Have a code? box. A free seat is used when someone you invite with a link, on slayd.ai or in the Slayd iPhone app, is set to pay their own seat. Someone you add with a code is billed to you, prorated, from the day you add them. When they enter the code, a free seat covers them from then on if one is left. Otherwise you keep paying their seat until you remove them.
What roles can a team member have, and can I change them later?
When you write the invitation, TEAM MEMBER ROLE fills in a suggested agreement (Service provider, Independent, Front desk, Assistant or Manager), and you can change any setting before sending. Once they have joined, their role on your team is Professional, Team Lead, Manager or Support, and you can change it and what they can do at any time; changing the role resets the switches to that role’s normal set. Until they accept, an offer cannot be edited this way.
Dashboard tab > Team > tap the team member’s name.
Tap Edit agreement and access.
Under ROLE, choose Professional, Team Lead, Manager or Support.
Under WHAT THEY CAN DO, turn switches such as See the business’s clients, See revenue and analytics or Manage other people’s appointments on or off, then tap Save changes.
What is the difference between an employee and an independent or chair renter?
An employee works for the business: their clients’ card payments go to the business’s payout account, and the business pays them under the agreement, for example by commission, hourly or salary. An independent or chair renter runs their own business inside yours: their clients pay them directly and stay theirs, they keep all tips, supply their own products and pay you chair rent. You set this with Working as in the agreement, and Slayd never routes an independent’s payments to the business.
When inviting: Dashboard tab > Team > Add a team member, and on the Team agreement step choose a role or open PAY & BOOKING SETTINGS.
Set Working as to Employee or Independent.
For an employee, choose HOW THEY ARE PAID (Commission, Hourly, Salary or Rent); for an independent, set Chair rent under WHAT THEY PAY THE BUSINESS.
As the owner, how do I show myself on my business page and take bookings?
Turn on I take clients here, and you are on the page and bookable like anyone else on the team. Turn it off if you own the business but do not work in it; you keep every owner control. If nobody on the team is bookable, Slayd warns you that clients cannot book on your page.
Dashboard tab > Team, then tap your own name, marked (you), under YOUR TEAM.
Tap Edit agreement and access.
Under YOUR OWN PLACE HERE, turn I take clients here on or off.
How do I control who appears on my business page, and in what order?
Each team member has two switches: Appear on your page lists them for clients, and Clients can book them lets clients book them, so someone can be listed without taking bookings. You can also change the order clients see.
Dashboard tab > Team > tap their name > Edit agreement and access.
Turn Appear on your page or Clients can book them on or off, then tap Save changes.
To reorder: on the Team page, next to YOUR TEAM, tap Arrange, move people up or down, then tap Save this order.
How do I see how a team member is doing at my business?
Each team member has an analytics page for their work at your business: upcoming appointments, completed appointments and clients in the last thirty days, their next appointment and cancellations. It counts appointments booked under your business only, and their personal earnings, own client book and work at other businesses are not shown.
Dashboard tab > Team > tap their name.
Tap See their analytics.
How do I check, resend or cancel an invitation I sent?
The Invitations page lists every link with its status. You can share an unused link again or void it so it stops working, and someone who already used a link keeps their place. Offers nobody answers end on their own after two weeks.
Dashboard tab > Team > Invitations (or Home tab > MANAGE > Invitations).
Under INVITATION LINKS, tap Resend link to share it again, or Void link to cancel it.
On slayd.ai
Invitation links are listed under Invitations on More > Team, with Copy link to share one again and Withdraw to cancel it.
People added with a code get a new one from their row on More > Team with Send a new code.
Can a manager or team member send team invitations?
Invitations come from the business owner, because the owner sets the terms and who pays the seat. A team member who manages the team sees Invitations are sent by the owner, others see You cannot add people here, and either should ask the owner to add the person.
How do I ask a salon to add me to their team?
There is no request-to-join button; the owner invites you. Ask the owner to add you from their Team page, then open the link they send you. The owner sets your terms and who pays your seat before the link is created.
How do I join a team I was invited to?
Open the invitation link on your iPhone, and Slayd shows the offer: your role, your pay, who pays your seat and the full agreement. You are not on the team, and nothing is charged, until you agree; if you pay your own seat and do not already have Slayd Pro of your own, you are asked to start it or redeem a code first. Links work once and expire after two weeks, so ask the owner for a new one if yours has expired.
Tap the link the owner sent you (slayd.ai/join-team/...) on your iPhone.
If you closed it, open the Home tab and tap You have been invited. Review the terms.
Read the terms and tap Agree and join team.
If asked, choose Start my seat — $9.99/month or I have a code.
On slayd.ai
Joining a team is done in the Slayd iPhone app.
I do not have Slayd yet. How do I join my salon’s team?
Install Slayd on your iPhone and create a professional account, not a client account. When asked how you work, choose Join a business and paste the link or code the owner sent you. Do not put it in REFERRAL CODE (OPTIONAL) on the profile step, which is for referral codes only.
Install Slayd and sign up as a professional.
At How do you work?, choose Join a business.
Under INVITE CODE, paste the link or code from the owner and tap Join the team.
Finish signup and review your team offer.
On slayd.ai
Staff invited on slayd.ai receive a link, or an eight-character code if the owner used Add with a code. Either one goes in the same INVITE CODE step in the iPhone app.
Can I ask for different terms, or turn down a team invitation?
Yes. Request changes lets you edit the offered terms and send them back, and nobody is on the team or billed until one side accepts; Decline offer turns it down. The owner answers your changes from their Team page, under Requests or by tapping your name and choosing Review their changes.
Open the offer from your invitation link, or from the Home tab card.
Tap Request changes, change at least one term, then tap Send my changes.
Or tap Decline offer.
The business gave me a code for my team seat. Where do I use it?
A team seat code from a business is an Apple offer code, and Apple checks it on its own screen. If your seat is unpaid when you agree to a team’s terms, tap I have a code under Your team seat; if Slayd asks you to set up your seat after you accept an invitation, tap I have a promo code. Your seat turns on once Apple applies the code, which can take a moment, and these codes do not work in the Slayd Pro Promo code box.
Open your team offer and tap Agree and join team.
In Your team seat, tap I have a code.
Enter the code on Apple’s screen. You join once your seat is active.
On slayd.ai
Apple offer codes can be redeemed only in the iPhone app.
I already pay for Slayd Pro. Will I be charged twice when I join a team?
No. A team seat replaces the solo plan. If the business pays for your seat and your plan is billed by card, Slayd ends it at the close of the current period; if you bought it through Apple, only you can cancel it, and the subscription screen tells you so. If you pay for your own seat, you can switch your Apple plan to the $9.99 team seat rate, which takes effect at your next renewal.
If the business pays for you, tap Manage on App Store and cancel your own plan.
If you pay your own seat, tap Switch to the team rate · $9.99/month.
Can I work at more than one business?
Yes. Working at two or more businesses, or running your own business that has other active members while working at another, needs the full Slayd Pro plan at $19.99 a month in your own name, and no business is billed a seat for you. A business you own where you are the only active member does not count, so you can join another team on the $9.99 seat. If you accept a second invitation without it, Slayd stops and tells you the full plan is needed: start it and accept again. Each business sees only the appointments booked with it.
Start the full plan: tap Start Slayd Pro · $19.99/month if the invitation shows it, or go to Profile tab > gear (Settings) > Slayd Pro Subscription.
Accept the invitation again.
To switch between businesses: Dashboard tab > Team, then tap the business name at the top.
I rent a chair at a salon. Who receives my clients’ payments?
You do. Card payments for your bookings go to your own payout account, and the salon owner cannot charge, refund or redirect them. Like any solo professional, you connect your own bank before clients can book you, and if the owner cancels one of your paid bookings, the client is refunded in full from your account.
Profile tab > gear (Settings).
Under Payments & Payouts, tap Bank account to set up or check your payouts.
As a chair renter, what can the salon owner see and do?
The owner can see your schedule and your clients at that business, and can book, move and cancel your appointments there. The owner cannot see your earnings, your own client book or work you do at any other business, and your payments and payouts always go to you. This is shown on the invitation before you agree.
I own a salon. Can I take or refund payments for my chair renters?
No. A chair renter collects their own payments and keeps their own clients, so only the renter can take or refund money for their appointments. You can still book, move and cancel their appointments.
I work as an employee on a team. How do I get paid?
When the business collects payment, your clients’ card payments go to the business’s payout account, and the business pays you under the agreement you accepted, such as commission, hourly or salary. Slayd’s payroll tools only keep records and do not send money to team members. You can check your agreed pay at any time.
Dashboard tab > Team.
Under MORE, tap Where you work to see your role, who pays your seat and the terms you agreed.
Can my teammates see my clients?
Only if you turn it on. As a team member, Let my team see my clients is off by default, and only you can turn it on; your owner cannot. While it is on, teammates can view and search your clients’ names, phone numbers, emails, last visit dates and visit counts, but they cannot edit a client, see your notes, keep or charge a card, or book for them. Independent pros keep their own clients.
Profile tab > gear (Settings).
Under Account, tap My business.
Under My client book, turn on Let my team see my clients.
How do I see clients a teammate has shared with me?
On the Clients page, tap the staff button (it reads All staff), select the teammate under SHARED WITH YOU, and tap Done. Their clients are added to your list, view only, and the Card on file and Needs attention filters apply to your own clients only.
Dashboard tab > Clients.
Tap All staff.
Under SHARED WITH YOU, select the teammate, then tap Done.
How do I book one of my clients with a teammate?
Send the teammate a request. Nothing is charged when you send it; once they accept, the client is asked to confirm and pay in Slayd. The owner, and team members allowed to manage other people’s appointments, can do this.
Dashboard tab > Team.
Under BOOK A CLIENT WITH YOUR TEAM, tap Send a request.
Choose the SERVICE PROVIDER, CLIENT, SERVICE and DATE AND TIME, add an optional note, and tap Send request.
Can the business owner see what I earn or my client list?
The owner sees the appointments booked with their business, and payments the business collects for you arrive in its account. Your personal earnings, your own client book and anything you do at another business are not shown to the owner. In a chair-renter arrangement, the owner can also see your clients at that business, as shown on your invitation.
Does Slayd pay my staff or collect chair rent?
No. Payroll works out what each team member is owed and keeps a record when you mark it paid, but Slayd does not send money, so pay your team through your own bank or payroll provider. Slayd does not collect chair rent either; Payroll’s BOOTH RENT section records rent you receive, and you can export payroll for QuickBooks.
Home tab > MANAGE > Payroll (shown once you have team members).
After you pay someone, tap RECORD PAID on their entry, or Record all paid.
When rent arrives, tap RECORD on the renter’s row under BOOTH RENT.
To export, tap Export for QuickBooks (CSV).
On slayd.ai
Payroll is under More > Payroll.
What happens if the business stops paying for my seat?
You get notice rather than an immediate cut-off. If the owner hands your seat back or their card fails, you keep working for a grace period, currently seven days, and see the date. To keep working after that, take over the seat yourself; nothing of yours is deleted either way.
Dashboard tab > Team.
On the card about your seat, tap Take it over or Subscribe.
How do I leave a team?
You are removed from the business’s page right away and can no longer be booked there, and nothing of yours is deleted: your services, hours, clients, posts and past payouts stay. If the business paid for your seat, Slayd Pro becomes your cost at $19.99 a month; if you paid the $9.99 team seat rate through Apple, Apple keeps charging it until you switch to the full plan or cancel it. An owner cannot leave their own business, and transferring ownership is not available yet.
Home tab > MANAGE > My settings.
Scroll to the bottom and tap Leave this business.
Read the summary and tap Leave business.
How do I remove someone from my team?
Removing someone ends their access to your business right away and stops their seat charge, and their past appointments and payouts stay in your records. Before you confirm, Slayd shows what is affected and lets you leave, move or cancel their upcoming appointments. For someone who has not accepted yet, tap their name and choose Withdraw offer instead.
Dashboard tab > Team > tap their name > Edit agreement and access.
Under LEAVING, tap (name) is leaving.
Choose what happens to any upcoming appointments and set the LAST DAY.
Tap Remove (name) from the team, then confirm Remove from team.
On slayd.ai
People added with a code are removed from More > Team with Remove on their row.
An invitation link nobody has used yet is cancelled under Invitations with Withdraw. Someone who joined through a link is removed in the Slayd iPhone app.
Can I pause a team member without removing them?
Yes, suspend them. They stop working at your business immediately, while their clients, bookings, history and reporting line are kept, and you can restore them at any time. What you pay for them continues to be billed while they are suspended; only removing them stops the charge.
Dashboard tab > Team > tap their name > Edit agreement and access.
Under SUSPEND THIS MEMBER, tap Suspend (name), then Suspend.
To undo, open the same page and tap Restore (name).
Your subscription
Slayd Pro, the free trial, codes, the team rate and cancelling.
How much does Slayd Pro cost, and is there a free trial?
Slayd Pro is $19.99 a month with every Pro tool included, and you need it to take bookings. In the iPhone app it is billed through the App Store, and the Slayd Pro screen shows a free first month only when Apple reports that your Apple ID is eligible. The plan renews monthly until you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. If you join a business’s team, you pay the $9.99 team seat rate or nothing, depending on who pays for your seat.
At the end of signup, tap Enter the app.
On the Slayd Pro screen, tap Subscribe with Apple and confirm in the App Store sheet.
If Slayd gave you a promo code, type it in Promo code and tap Apply instead.
If you already subscribed with this Apple ID, tap Restore Purchases.
On slayd.ai
Slayd Pro can also be paid by card. The first 30 days are free if this account has never had a free trial of Slayd Pro, by card or through Apple, and only once per account. Whichever way you pay, the same account is unlocked in the app and on the website.
Will I be charged automatically when my free trial ends?
Yes. Slayd Pro renews automatically every month, so the free month becomes a paid month unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. To see the end date or to cancel, use your iPhone’s Settings.
Open your iPhone’s Settings app and tap your name.
Tap Subscriptions, then Slayd, to see the renewal date or cancel.
On slayd.ai
Card trials: account menu > Business settings > Subscription shows the trial end date and says you are then billed automatically. Cancel there before the trial ends to avoid the first charge.
Can I pay for Slayd Pro by card instead of through Apple?
In the iPhone app, Slayd Pro is sold only through the App Store and billed to your Apple ID, and on slayd.ai you can subscribe by card instead. Either way, Pro unlocks on the same Slayd account everywhere, because the plan belongs to your account and not to a phone. Slayd does not start a card subscription while an App Store subscription is active, so you are not billed twice.
Where can I see my Slayd Pro plan?
The Subscription screen shows whether Slayd Pro is ACTIVE or INACTIVE and how it is covered: a paid plan shows its monthly price, a seat your business pays for shows “Covered by your business”, and a complimentary plan shows “Free until” its end date, or “Free for life”. For an App Store subscription, the renewal date is in your iPhone’s Settings: tap your name, then Subscriptions.
Open the Profile tab and tap the gear at the top right (Settings).
Under Account, tap Slayd Pro Subscription.
On slayd.ai
Account menu > Business settings > Subscription shows the status and the renewal or trial end date, and for a card plan, Manage billing and Cancel subscription.
I have a promo code or a referral code. Where do I enter it?
This is about codes for your own Slayd Pro plan. To give your clients a discount, see How do I run a promotion or give clients a discount code?; clients enter a pro’s code in Promo code at checkout. A promo code from Slayd goes in Promo code on the Slayd Pro screen during signup, or under HAVE A CODE? if your plan has ended; tap Apply, and Slayd Pro is free for the time the code states. A referral code from another Slayd member goes in REFERRAL CODE (OPTIONAL) on the profile step of signup. Each promo code works once per account and never shortens a free period you already have. A code does not pause a subscription you already pay for, and the iPhone app has no code box once you subscribe, so email the code to support@slayd.ai.
Referral code: during signup, on Set up your profile, type it in REFERRAL CODE (OPTIONAL) and tap Continue.
Promo code: on the Slayd Pro screen, type it in Promo code and tap Apply.
Business invite code: on How do you work?, tap Join a business, then enter it under INVITE CODE.
On slayd.ai
A code entered in Promo code (optional) when you create your account gives the same free time. A code entered at the card checkout instead lengthens the card trial, and the card is charged when that trial ends unless you cancel.
Signed in, Account menu > Business settings > Subscription > Have a promo code? also takes a code after you subscribe. It is not offered with Slayd Pro free for life or with a seat your business pays for. A card or App Store plan you already pay for keeps billing until you cancel it.
I work under a business. How do I pay the $9.99 team rate instead of $19.99?
Whoever adds you to a team decides who pays for your seat: if the business covers it, you pay nothing and the Subscription screen shows “Covered by your business”. If you pay for your own seat, you pay the $9.99 team seat rate through Apple instead of the full plan, and switching from the full plan takes effect at your next renewal, so you are never charged twice. The team rate counts only while you hold a seat at exactly one business, and if you leave, Apple keeps charging it until you switch to the full plan or cancel.
If you already pay for the full plan: Profile tab > gear (Settings) > Slayd Pro Subscription (under Account).
Tap Switch to the team rate · $9.99/month.
If you have no plan yet, Slayd shows Your team seat when you agree to the team’s terms, or Your team seat is unpaid: tap Start my seat or Pay for team seat.
On slayd.ai
The team seat a member pays is sold only in the iPhone app, through Apple. An owner can cover a member’s seat by card on slayd.ai instead.
My business covers my seat, but Apple is still charging me. Why?
Only the person who bought an App Store subscription can cancel it, so Slayd cannot stop one you bought yourself. When your employer covers your seat and Apple is still billing you, the Subscription screen says so and offers Manage on App Store; cancel your own subscription there so you do not pay for access that is already covered.
I already pay for Slayd Pro, but the app asks me to subscribe. What should I do?
First check that you are signed in to the Slayd account you subscribed with: one Apple subscription covers only one Slayd account, and the app says “That Apple subscription belongs to another Slayd account” when it is in use on another. If you pay through Apple, tap Restore Purchases on the Slayd Pro screen. It checks the Apple ID signed in on this iPhone, so “No Slayd Pro subscription was found” usually means the subscription is on a different Apple ID. A plan billed by card belongs to your Slayd account, so signing in is enough; if it still does not unlock, email support@slayd.ai.
What happens if my Slayd Pro plan ends or a payment fails?
If Apple cannot take a renewal, it keeps retrying during its billing grace period and you keep access meanwhile. Once nothing covers your account, the app opens on “Your Pro plan has ended” (or “Your team seat is unpaid” for a member who pays their own seat), and clients cannot book or pay you through Slayd until you restart; appointments already paid for are not affected. Your clients, services, hours and history are kept. To get back in, tap Restart Slayd Pro (or Pay for team seat), tap Restore Purchases if you already pay on this Apple ID, or enter a code under HAVE A CODE?
On slayd.ai
Card plans: Business settings shows Payment due and asks you to update your card, with Manage billing to change it.
How do I cancel Slayd Pro?
An App Store subscription is cancelled through Apple, and you keep Pro until the end of the current billing period; your clients, services and history stay in place. If your business covers your seat or your plan is complimentary, there is nothing to cancel, and a plan billed by card is changed or cancelled by signing in at slayd.ai with the same account. Deleting your Slayd account does not cancel an App Store subscription.
Tap Cancel subscription, then Cancel on the App Store, and finish on Apple’s screen.
Or, on your iPhone: Settings > your name > Subscriptions > Slayd > Cancel Subscription.
On slayd.ai
Card plans: open Business settings from the account menu and tap Cancel subscription on the Subscription card. Apple plans show Billed through Apple there and are cancelled on the iPhone.
Can I get a refund for Slayd Pro?
App Store payments are handled by Apple under Apple’s terms, and Slayd cannot issue App Store refunds; request one from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. A plan billed by card can be cancelled at any time and runs to the end of the period you paid for, but that period is not refunded.
Your account
Support, signing in, switching accounts, your profile, notifications and your data.
How do I contact Slayd support?
Email support@slayd.ai or write to Slayd from the app, and we usually reply within one business day. On a pro account, Support is the last row on the Home tab: search the questions and answers, open the how-to videos or tap Email support. In Settings, Report a Problem adds your device and app version automatically, and Send Feedback is for suggestions.
Pros: open the Home tab, scroll to the bottom and tap Support under HELP.
Tap Email support, or type your question in the search box.
Anyone: Profile tab > gear (Settings) > Support > Contact Support. Under What is it about?, choose a topic, write your message (a subject is optional), then tap Send to support.
On slayd.ai
Choose Help and contact from the account menu, or go to slayd.ai/support.
How do I switch between my accounts?
Every account you sign in to on this iPhone is saved: tap your photo at the top right of the Profile tab and choose the account under SWITCH TO. Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode confirms it is you, or the account password if the iPhone has no passcode. To add an account you already have, tap Sign in to another account, and to remove a saved account from this iPhone, tap the x beside it.
Open the Profile tab and tap your photo at the top right.
Under SWITCH TO, tap the account you want.
On slayd.ai
slayd.ai has no account switcher. Sign out and sign in to the other account.
Can I book appointments with my pro account?
No. Each Slayd account is one identity, and a pro account takes bookings but does not make them, so Book is not offered on it and Slayd shows “Switch to your client account to book.” To book as a client, create a separate Slayd user account with a different email address; one phone number can be used for one client account and one pro account. Both accounts stay saved on your iPhone, and you switch between them from your photo on the Profile tab.
Open the Profile tab and tap your photo at the top right.
Tap Create new account, then Sign Out & Continue.
Choose Slayd user and sign up with a different email address.
To switch back, tap your photo and choose the other account under SWITCH TO.
On slayd.ai
slayd.ai has no account switcher. Sign out from the account menu, then sign in to the other account.
How do I sign out?
Tap Sign Out at the bottom of Settings, or tap your photo on the Profile tab and then Sign out. Your bookings and posts stay with your account, and the account stays saved on this iPhone so you can switch back quickly.
Open the Profile tab and tap the gear at the top right (Settings).
Scroll to Account Actions and tap Sign Out.
On slayd.ai
Open the account menu and choose Sign out.
How do I change my email address?
Confirm your current email and password, then enter the new address, and Slayd emails a verification link to it. Your sign-in email does not change until you open that link, and you cannot use an address that another Slayd account already uses.
Open the Profile tab and tap the gear at the top right (Settings).
Under Account, tap Change Email.
Enter your current email and current password, then your new email.
Tap Send verification link and open the link in the new inbox.
On slayd.ai
Account menu > Account settings (clients) or Business settings > Account (pros) > Change email. Enter your current email and current password, then your new email, tap Send verification link and open the link in the new inbox.
How do I change or reset my password?
Slayd emails a secure link to the address on your account, and you choose the new password from that link. If you are signed out, use Forgot Password? on the sign-in screen. The email can take a few minutes to arrive and may land in your spam folder.
Tap Email me a reset link and open the link in your email.
Signed out: on the sign-in screen, tap Forgot Password?, enter your email and tap Send Reset Link.
On slayd.ai
Account menu > Account settings (clients) or Business settings (pros) > Change password.
How do I set or change my username?
Edit it in Edit Profile and tap Save; the app checks that it is available as you type, and you can change it once every 14 days. For a pro, your booking link (slayd.ai/@username) is built from it, so the link card shows Set a username until you have one. When you change it, the old link stops working and the old username becomes available to others, so update it wherever you shared it.
Tap Set a username on the link card, or open the Profile tab and tap EDIT PROFILE.
Under Identity, type a Username and wait for Available.
Tap Save and confirm Change username.
How do I change my name, photo or bio?
All three are in Edit Profile: tap Change Photo for your picture, edit Name under Identity, and write your Bio (up to 150 characters). Changes show on your page once you tap Save.
Open the Profile tab and tap EDIT PROFILE (or Settings > Edit Profile).
Make your changes.
Tap Save.
On slayd.ai
Clients use Account settings in the account menu (Change photo, Edit profile). Pros open Business settings > Business profile to change the display name and bio, and Edit photo and hours to change the photo.
How do I change the phone number on my account?
The phone number you verified at sign-up cannot be changed in the app. Email support@slayd.ai from the email address on your account and include the new number.
How do I verify my email address?
Settings shows whether your email address is verified. If it says Not verified, tap Send verification email and open the link Slayd sends you; you can send it again after 60 seconds.
Open the Profile tab and tap the gear at the top right (Settings).
Under Account, find Email verification.
Tap Send verification email and open the link in your inbox.
How do I turn notifications on or off, and why am I not getting them?
Allow push notifications turns them on for this iPhone, and if the screen says Notifications are off for Slayd, tap Open Settings and allow them in iOS. Below it you choose categories, which apply on every device you sign in to: Likes, Comments, Follows, Direct messages, Bookings & cancellations, and Promotions and offers. Bookings & cancellations also covers reviews, client invitations and card requests, and alerts about payouts, disputes, your subscription and payout setup are always sent.
Open the Profile tab and tap the gear at the top right (Settings).
Under Notifications, tap Notifications.
Turn on Allow push notifications, then set each category.
On slayd.ai
Business settings (pros) or Account settings (clients) > Notifications. Turn on notifications covers this device only. Below it, under What Slayd notifies you about, the Direct messages, Bookings and cancellations, and Promotions and offers switches apply on every device you sign in to, including the Slayd iPhone app. Likes, Comments and Follows are set in the iPhone app.
How do I switch Slayd to dark mode?
Settings has an Appearance switch with three choices: System, Light and Dark. System follows your iPhone’s setting, while Light and Dark keep Slayd in that mode whatever your iPhone is set to.
Open the Profile tab and tap the gear at the top right (Settings).
Under Appearance, tap System, Light or Dark.
What is a referral code, and where do I find mine?
Every account has its own referral code and link, which record who brought a new person to Slayd. A referral code is not a promo code and gives no free time by itself. A client can enter someone else’s code once, within the account’s first 14 days, and a pro enters one during sign-up.
Open the Profile tab and tap the gear at the top right (Settings).
Under Referrals, tap Your referral code to copy or share yours.
Clients: tap Enter a referral code to add the code of the person who invited you.
On slayd.ai
Clients open Account settings > Referral code to share theirs or enter the one they joined with. Pros find their code in Business settings under Referrals.
The app says “Update required”. What do I do?
Your version of Slayd is no longer supported, so tap Update on the App Store, install the update and open Slayd again. Updating does not sign you out, and your account, bookings and messages are kept. A smaller card that says “A new version of Slayd is available” is optional: tap Update or Not now.
How do I download my data?
Slayd builds one file of everything it holds about you the moment you ask: your sign-in details, profile and settings, appointments, payments, consent forms, posts, comments, reviews, saved items, notifications and message history. Messages other people wrote show only the sender and time, and card numbers are never included. For pros, client records, their photos and your books are not part of this file.
Open the Profile tab and tap the gear at the top right (Settings).
Scroll to Account Actions and tap Download My Data.
Tap Prepare my data, then Save my data file.
On slayd.ai
Account menu > Account settings > Download my data (clients, under Account actions) or Business settings > Account > Download my data (pros). Tap Prepare my data, then Save my data file.
How do I delete my account, and what happens to my data?
Deleting removes your profile, posts, comments, likes, follows, the reviews shown on pros’ pages, saved looks and your photos and videos, and it cannot be undone; appointments and messages you shared stay in the other person’s history, and payment records are kept for tax and accounting. If you are a pro, upcoming appointments with clients who have a Slayd account are cancelled and refunded (walk-in and imported appointments are not), and your client records are permanently deleted. If you are a client, cancel your own upcoming appointments first, because they are not cancelled for you. Deleting does not cancel an App Store subscription, so cancel that first.
If you pay through Apple, cancel first: iPhone Settings > your name > Subscriptions.
Open the Profile tab and tap the gear at the top right (Settings).
Scroll to Account Actions and tap Delete Account.
Read the notice and tap Delete. You may be asked for your password.
On slayd.ai
Clients use Account settings > Delete account. Pros use Business settings > Danger zone > Delete account.
For clients
Booking, paying, changing an appointment and contacting your pro.
Is Slayd free for clients?
Yes, joining and browsing are free. When you pay for a booking, a booking fee is shown as “Booking fee” before you pay. If the pro collects sales tax, that is also shown before you pay.
Why is there a booking fee when I pay?
Slayd adds a booking fee, shown as Booking fee before you pay; it covers Slayd’s service and card processing. If your booking is refunded in full, the booking fee is refunded too, and a partial refund returns it in proportion.
How do I find a pro or a business?
Search shows people, pros and businesses together from the first letter you type, by name, @username, business name, service or city. Tap the magnifying glass at the top of the Explore tab, or use the search box on the Book tab. To browse pros near you, open the Book tab and tap Use my location or Enter city or ZIP.
Tap the magnifying glass at the top of the Explore tab, or the search box on the Book tab.
Start typing a name, @username, business, service or city.
Tap a result to open their page.
On slayd.ai
Use Search Slayd at the top of the page, or the search on the Book page.
How do I book an appointment, and where do I find it?
Booking needs a free Slayd account. Choose a pro, a service, a day and a time, check the total and any deposit, and pay with Apple Pay or a card. Your bookings are in the Journal tab under Bookings, sorted into Upcoming, Past and Canceled.
Open the Book tab, or tap Book on a post in Explore.
Tap a pro to open their page, then tap Book and choose a service.
Pick a day and a time.
Agree to the policy, then tap Confirm and pay.
Find it in the Journal tab under Bookings > Upcoming.
On slayd.ai
Sign in or create a free account, open Book or a pro’s link, choose a service and a time, and pay at checkout. Bookings are under Appointments.
Can I book more than one service in one appointment?
Yes, with one professional. On their page, or a business’s page, tap Book multiple services and choose two to five services with the same professional. They are booked as one continuous appointment of up to twelve hours and paid as one total. Services with different cancellation terms must be booked separately, and this is not offered on fitness pages.
Open the pro’s or business’s page and tap Book multiple services.
Choose two to five services with the same professional.
Pick a time and confirm the booking.
Where do I enter a pro’s promo code?
On the Confirm Booking screen, type the code in Promo code and tap Apply. The discount shows before you pay. A code works only with the professional who made it, and it is not combined with a deal the pro is running: the larger discount applies.
How do deposits work?
A pro can ask for a deposit on a service. You pay the deposit plus its booking fee when you book (“Total due now”), and the screen shows the “Balance due at your appointment”. You can pay the balance at the appointment or in the app, and whether a deposit is refundable depends on the pro’s cancellation policy, which you see before you book.
To pay the balance in the app: Journal tab > Bookings > Upcoming, tap the booking, then tap Pay (amount) Balance.
What is a booking request?
Some pros approve bookings before they are confirmed, and you will see “Request sent”. If the service has a deposit, it is charged when you send the request and refunded if the pro declines; a full-price request only places a temporary hold on your card, which is charged if the pro accepts. A request nobody answers closes automatically after six days, or within a day once the appointment time has passed, and any hold or deposit goes back to you.
Why is there a pending charge or hold on my card?
When you send a booking request for a full-price service, your card is only held, not charged: it is charged if the pro accepts, and the hold is released if they decline or the request closes unanswered. If the service has a deposit, the deposit is charged when you send the request and refunded if the request is declined or closes unanswered.
How do I pay my balance?
Pay at your appointment, or in the app: open the booking in your Journal and tap Pay (amount) Balance. If nothing was paid when you booked, the same button reads Pay (amount) in Full.
Open the Journal tab, then Bookings, and tap the booking.
Tap Pay (amount) Balance, or Pay (amount) in Full.
On slayd.ai
Your bookings are under Appointments.
How do I change the time of my booking?
You can move an upcoming booking to another open time yourself, and your pro is notified. You can also ask your pro to move it up to 24 hours sooner or later with Request a different time, which sends them a message. The time changes only after your pro sends you a new time and you accept it. A class cannot be rescheduled: cancel it and book another session.
Open the Journal tab, then Bookings > Upcoming, and tap the booking.
Tap Reschedule, pick a new day and time, then tap Confirm New Time.
Or tap Request a different time, choose Sooner or Later, and tap Send request.
On slayd.ai
Open Appointments and tap the booking, then tap Reschedule. Pick a new day and time and tap Move appointment; your professional is notified. A class cannot be moved: cancel it and book another session. If your pro suggests a new time, the booking shows Accept the new time and Keep my time.
My pro suggested a new time. What do I do?
Open the booking in your Journal: the card shows YOUR TIME NOW and SUGGESTED. Tap Accept to move to the new time, Keep original time to stay as booked, or Pick a different day and time. Nothing changes until you accept, and if you do not answer, the suggestion expires and your appointment stays as it was.
On slayd.ai
The suggestion appears on the booking with Accept the new time and Keep my time.
The time I want is taken. Can I join a waitlist?
Yes. When choosing a time, tap a taken time and then Join the waitlist. If it opens up and you are first in line, Slayd notifies you, and you book it yourself before someone else does; tap the time again and choose Leave the waitlist to stop following it. A full class has a waitlist too.
Can I cancel, and will I get a refund?
It depends on the pro’s cancellation policy, which you see before you book. By default, cancelling before the appointment starts gives an automatic full refund, and if the pro made a deposit or service non-refundable, the cancel screen shows what is refunded and what is kept before you confirm. If the policy has a late-cancellation fee and you saved a card with that pro, they can charge that fee plus its booking fee.
Open the Journal tab, then Bookings > Upcoming, and tap the booking.
Tap Cancel Booking.
Choose a reason and check the refund under IF YOU CANCEL.
Tap Confirm cancellation.
On slayd.ai
Appointments > open the booking > Cancel appointment.
When will I see my refund?
Refunds go back to the card you paid with, and your bank usually shows them within five to ten business days.
What happens if my pro cancels my appointment?
If the pro cancels a booking you paid for before it starts, everything you paid, including the booking fee, is refunded automatically to the card you paid with, and you are notified. If an appointment is recorded as cancelled after its start time, a refund is at the pro’s discretion, so contact them. If a pro deletes their Slayd account, their upcoming appointments with you are cancelled and refunded the same way.
Why was I charged a no-show or late-cancellation fee?
A professional can charge one only if their policy was shown to you when you booked and you authorized them to keep your card on file. It applies if you missed the appointment, or cancelled inside the late window you agreed to, and only once per booking; money they already hold for the visit counts toward it. You receive a Fee charged notification that opens the booking, and you can remove a card authorization in Settings > Payment Methods.
When do I get appointment reminders, and can I change them?
For bookings made on Slayd, you get a reminder about a day before (unless you booked less than a day ahead) and another about two hours before, by notification and by email to your account address. These times are fixed: the Remind me and Day-of reminder choices under Appointment reminders do not change them. To stop reminder notifications, turn off Bookings & cancellations, which also turns off other booking alerts; email reminders still arrive.
Open the Profile tab and tap the gear at the top right (Settings).
Under Notifications, tap Notifications.
Turn Bookings & cancellations off or on.
How do I message a pro?
Tap Message on the pro’s page. Your conversations are in your Inbox: on the Explore tab, tap the tray icon at the top, next to the magnifying glass, then Messages. From a booking, tap Contact, then Message in app, and tap the photo button to send a photo of the look you want.
On slayd.ai
Choose Messages in the menu.
Why can’t I see the pro’s exact address?
A pro’s page shows only their city. The exact address appears on your appointment once your booking is confirmed and paid (a deposit counts), along with the pro’s phone number if they accept calls.
Open the Journal tab, then Bookings, and tap the booking.
Look under LOCATION.
On slayd.ai
The address appears on the booking under Appointments once it is confirmed and paid.
A pro’s page says “Not taking bookings”. What does that mean?
Appointments cannot be booked on that page right now, for example because the pro has not finished setting up payments or has nothing on their menu. Check back later, or contact the pro another way.
Why does it say the professional is not available for booking right now?
The professional cannot be booked through Slayd at the moment, for example because they are not taking new bookings, so the booking was not made. You can message them or choose another pro, and if you think it is a mistake, or you see a charge for a booking that did not go through, email support@slayd.ai.
How do I book a specific person at a salon or studio?
A business page lists its team so you can choose who you want: tap a person to see their services and book with them. If you start from a service instead, Slayd asks which professional you want before you choose a time.
Open the Book tab and search for the business.
Open the business and tap Team.
Under Who would you like to book with?, tap the person or their Book button.
Choose a service, then a date and time.
What does “No preference” mean when booking at a salon?
It lets Slayd book the first available professional on the team at the time you choose. Some salons are made up of independent professionals who each run their own business; there you choose the person, so No preference is not offered.
On Your Pro, tap No preference or a person.
Tap Continue to date & time.
When I book at a salon, who receives my payment?
You pay through Slayd: the service price plus a booking fee shown before you pay, the same at any business. The payment goes to the salon or, if the professional you booked rents a chair there, directly to that professional.
A salon set up an appointment for me. How do I confirm it?
When a salon arranges a visit for you with one of its professionals, it is not booked until you confirm and pay, and nothing is held before that.
Open the Journal tab and tap Bookings.
At the top, under CONFIRM YOUR APPOINTMENT, check the service, professional, time and price.
Tap Confirm and pay.
A pro wants to add me as a client. What does that mean?
A pro can invite you so you join their client list on Slayd: open the link they texted you, or tap Accept or Decline under CLIENT LINK REQUESTS in your Inbox. If they sent you an appointment, accepting adds it to your Journal. You need a personal (client) account, and if you have none, you are asked to create one and the invitation waits; invitations expire after 14 days.
Open the link, or tap the tray icon at the top of the Explore tab, then Social.
Under CLIENT LINK REQUESTS, tap Accept or Decline.
On slayd.ai
The link also opens on slayd.ai, where you can sign in or create an account and choose Accept or Decline.
How do I manage saved cards, or stop a pro from charging my card?
Payment Methods holds two separate things: saved cards, for faster checkout, and WHO CAN CHARGE YOUR CARD, every pro you have allowed to charge a card later, for example for a late-cancellation fee. You can remove any of them, though charges already made stay on your receipts.
Open the Profile tab and tap the gear at the top right (Settings).
Under Booking & Location, tap Payment Methods.
Tap Manage saved cards to add or remove a card.
Under WHO CAN CHARGE YOUR CARD, choose a pro and tap Remove authorization.
On slayd.ai
Account menu > Account settings > Payment methods. Under Who can charge your card, tap Remove authorization on the pro, then Remove; Authorize a professional is there too. Cards saved for faster checkout are managed in the Slayd iPhone app.
Where is my receipt?
A receipt is emailed to the address you booked with as soon as a payment completes. It is also on the booking: open it in your Journal to see the price, the booking fee, any tip and any refund.
Open the Journal tab, then Bookings, and tap the booking.
Scroll to RECEIPT.
On slayd.ai
Open the booking under Appointments.
How do I leave a review for my pro?
You can review a visit once it is completed and fully paid, whether in the app, in person or through a package. Choose one to five stars, add a note if you like, and tap Submit Review; you can also keep a private note for next time that only you can see.
Open the Journal tab, then Bookings > Past, and tap the visit.
Tap Leave a review, or tap the review prompt Slayd shows after your visit.
Choose your stars, add a note if you like, and tap Submit Review.
Can I change or delete my review?
You can change it: open the booking in your Journal, tap your stars under YOUR REVIEW, and submit again. A single review cannot be deleted, but deleting your Slayd account removes your reviews from pros’ pages.
Open the Journal tab, then Bookings > Past, and tap the visit.
